Ben T. Givaudan, III  N4BG

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of club member Ben T. Givaudan, III.  Ben passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Brookdale Memory Care in Burlington, NC.

Ben’s contribution to Martin County ARES/RACES was unmeasurable.  There was literally no computer, or radio, or antenna system that didn’t have his fingerprints all over it!  We all walk on the foundation that Ben built.

In addition, for many years, he was one of the few CW operators in the club!  It was a joy to watch him operate during Field Day.

Ben is the step-father of Matt Hinckle, who is the Telecommunications Manager for the Martin County Information Technology Services department.

We all miss you Ben!

Resources

For residents of Florida's coastal counties, the yearly start of Hurricane Season serves as a reminder to test our generators, clean out our gutters and swales, and stock up on fuel and non-perishable foods.  But as Hams, we have the additional charge of making sure we are equipped and prepared to communicate under emergency conditions.
