All about Antennas, interest in CW class
MCARA held its monthly meeting one week early in November to avoid falling on Thanksgiving. Our next meeting is our annual Christmas Dinner on Saturday, 12 December, 2009, 3PM at the Red Lobster 3544 NW Federal Hwy, Jensen Beach. All meetings other than November and Decembe are held on the 4th Thursday of the month at 777 SE Salerno Road, Stuart, FL at 7PM.
This meeting our presentation was given by Doug Shields, titled "All about Antennas" and featured an engaging discussion on antennas in general, types of antennas, advantages and disadvantages of the types, and everything you ever wanted to know (intentionally theory was skipped to keep the presentation interesting to all in attendance).
After the presentation the general discussion turned to interest in holding a CW class. CW is no longer required to hold any ham radio license in the US, but it is a lot of fun once you learn it. If you would like to learn CW (Morse Code) in a classroom environment, please fill out the contact form and let us know of your interest so we may contact you once we have enough people to organize our first class.
We hope to see you at the annual Christmas Dinner Meeting on 12 December at the Jensen Beach Rad Loboster- this is usually one of our best attended meetings. Happy Holidays to all.
