Super turnout at the Hamfest

The Stuart Hamfest had a super turnout- greater than previous years. Thanks go out to all the volunteers, vendors, and attendees who made the biggest free hamfest in Florida a success again. For the record, we had 192 vehicles in the general parking area at peak, 72 tailgaters, and 6 motorhomes. We cannot say how many people that represents exactly- but it seems safe to estimate double the vehicle count as most had two or more people- about 500 to 600 people attended the 2009 Stuart free hamfest.

We have a collection of photos shot by club members for those who are interested. We had some big improvements in many areas and got some good feedback from our vendors which should result in some refinements for the 2010 hamfest event.

We're still working on putting the detailed figures together and should have the 2009 hamfest prize winners posted shortly. If you subsrcibe to our news feedyou can get notice immediately when the site is updated without needing to visit the site directly. Check back soon- we'll see you next year at the hamfest!

Recently moved to Florida and am a New Ham.
Stuart was my first Hamfest.
I had a Great time, made many new friends, subscribed to ARRL and WON one of the drawings.
Purchased a Yaesu and power supply.
What a day!
Thank you,
Pat in Boca

Great hamfest, counting down the days 'til next year, 364 days to go.
I was under the weather(sick),and literally,(soaked by the rain),still managed to appreciate the fine job turned in, once again, by the Martin County Amateur Radio Club.
Great slideslow as well. All clubs should follow your lead. tnx and 73

ps.
See how empty my tables were? Notice my absence in photos? (# 6, 37) I was away from my concession, busy propping up the economy with other sellers. Buying and selling was brisk!!

Actually, I was filling out the Prize ticket stubs using a pen found on the ARRL table. I already am a current ARRL member. Good thing I filled these out as one of my ticket stubs was drawn for an hourly prize. Thanks MCARA. I had a good time and also found a "goodie" I couldn't live without!
