Laddie, W2KGV SK

From Martin County Amateur Radio Association Christmas 2008 Meeting

Joe Lenartiene, KD4BTD informs us:
It was with sadness that I learned of the passing of Ladd Sajor, W2KGV, at this evening’s VE session in Ft. Pierce.
As many of you know, he resided in PSL with his wife at the Brighton Gardens Community with his wife Mary who died 2 weeks earlier.

This is the Obituary from the Palm Beach Post of Thursday 12th, 2009: Sajor, Ladislaw Z., 93, of Port St. Lucie, died Tuesday. Neptune Society, Pompano Beach.

I know those of us who have been in the hobby for awhile will Miss Laddie. He was active in Ham radio since at least 1934. Ladd was definitively one of the highlights of Treasure Coast Ham Radio. An outstanding member of the Ft. Pierce Amateur Radio Club,  The Martin County Amateur Radio Club, and The Port St. Lucie Amateur Radio Club.  Not to mention New York University and the Westchester County clubs in his younger days..

May he and Mary rest in peace....

De KD4BTD
Joe

This is the first I was made aware of this. Ladd and I shared so much on the monday night net. He would say I'll take it, and I'd say I got it, and we would go round and round and laugh. What a man he was. A gentleman Ham all the way, he was a stickler for the rules on the air and to hear his stories of his living in New York State, we would talk for a long time after Nets, and he sent me a Wave Bridge for my Astron 35 Amp Power Supply, when I could not find the one I needed in the stores. 'Ol Laddy had one in his shed he was always working on. I tried to pay him, but no way.
I am deeply saddened and to learn his wife passed 2 weeks before he did. They are both together now in a much better place. My prayers go out to his family and I will always remember him as one of my first contact when I got my "ticket" in 1994.

May he and his wife sit with the Angels, and the Lord take care of them both. "Rest in peace Ladd; you taught me a lot about ham radio"

Ladd sure was a nice guy. I got my license in 1991 after taking a class from Paul Harrison. Shortly later, at an MCARA meeting I asked Ladd and Paul what kind of antenna I needed for 2M, figuring it would have to be some $40.00 piece of equipment. Ladd laughed and said a wet noodle will work, or atleast a 19 in. piece of wire. Will miss you Ladd....

Ladd was one of the first hams that I met while I was studying for my license. He was always supportive, a real gentleman, and always upbeat (even when disagreeing with something). I recall many interesting programs that he gave at radio club meetings. There were many great QSOs with him that will give us all good memories.

May he and his bride Mary (as he usually referred to her) rest in peace.

Lad has been one of the most devoted and steady supporters of Ham Radio over the years that I have known. He was on the MCARA board the years that I was President, and he was a steady and knowledgeable supporter all the time. We will all miss him and his genuine good humor and friendship.
